A short story of Compassion towards our spouses.

The husband was upset at his wife’s failure with a house chore. The wife became upset as well with the approach which the husband employed when addressing the issue. There was a breakdown of communication between the two after a silly argument where both exchanged fairly bitter statements. This led to the husband’s absolute silence unless it was necessary to reply to her. This led both of them to resort to..

‘I complain of my grief & sorrow to Allāh’ (Qurān 12:86).

Little did they know that both of them have been striving in dua to Allah that He may connect their hearts again and bring back the harmony that used to be. Verily Allah is with the patient ones. In a duration of two days, things got back to normal alhamduliLlah.

But, did it have to be this way?

did it need two days of unease of communication and discomfort in their hearts? Certainly, some arguments are not worth of such time and loss of quality time in any marriage. Lets all of us practise compassion and try our best to be more tolerating and understanding with our spouses. Allahumma ameen.
